Máximo González (born July 20, 1983 in Tandil ) is an Argentine tennis player .

life and career

González attended the Raul Pérez-Roldán tennis school (father of Guillermo Pérez-Roldán) in Tandil. He started his tennis career in 2000 with a few futures tournaments in Argentina. Two years later he turned professional, winning his first future tournament in Arezzo in 2004 . After he reached at least the semifinals in each of the following future tournaments, he switched to Challenger tournaments at the end of 2005. At this tournament level, he achieved his first tournament victory in Vigo in 2007 . Then he was able to win the tournament three times at the next four Challenger tournaments. In 2009 he managed for the first time to finish the year in the top 100 of the world rankings with 66th place. In singles, reaching the third round at the 2009 French Open was his best result. In the world rankings, he had his highest ranking with 58th place.

He celebrated more successes in doubles. At the US Open 2008 he made it to the semi-finals and won the doubles competition in Valencia with Juan Mónaco in the same season . The next title successes only followed in 2015 and 2016: in 2015 with André Sá in Umag and in 2016 with Guillermo Durán in Marrakech , he secured two more titles on the World Tour .

In 2017 he played for the Argentine Davis Cup team for the first time .
