Víctor Estrella was mainly active on the Future and Challenger Tour . In singles, he won six singles titles and four doubles on the Challenger Tour. On March 3, 2014, Víctor Estrella broke through the top 100 in the world rankings for the first time in his career and at the same time as the first player in his country with rank 99 in the individual. He also qualified directly for the main field of the French Open 2014 , which was equal to his Grand Slam debut . In the first round he was defeated by Jerzy Janowicz in four sets. At the US Open 2014 he reached a new record with the third round. Because of this success he was named Dominican Athlete of the Year 2014.
On February 8, 2015, he won his first tournament on the ATP World Tour with the Ecuador Open Quito . At that time he was already 34 years old and therefore older than any player before him when he first won the tournament. In the doubles competition he also reached his first final on the World Tour. By winning the title, he achieved first place 52 in the world rankings and shortly afterwards after his victory at the Challenger in Morelos and further good results in the course of the season with 43 his best placement in the individual. In both 2016 and 2017 , Estrella managed to defend his title in Quito. In October 2019 he played his last professional tournament.
He played from 1998 to 2019 for the Dominican Davis Cup team , whose record player and at the same time most successful player he is with 65 wins.
