Thomas Fabbiano (born May 26, 1989 in Grottaglie ) is an Italian tennis player .

Career

Fabbiano mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . At Challenger tournaments, he has so far won once in individual competitions and three times in doubles with different partners. He played his first game on the ATP World Tour in 2008 at the Rome Masters , where he qualified for the main draw over two rounds. He lost his opening game against French Nicolas Mahut 7: 6, 5 , 4: 6 and 5: 7. In the same year he also won three future tournaments in singles and improved over the course of the year by almost 200 places to position 371 in the ATP world rankings . He achieved his best ranking to date in April 2016 with 108th place.

He celebrated his first tournament victory on the Challenger Tour in 2008 in Manerbio at the side of Boris Pašanski . In July 2013 he achieved his first success in singles, when he defeated French David Guez in two sets in the final of the Guzzini Challenger in Recanati .
