Marco Trungelliti (born January 31, 1990 in Santiago del Estero ) is an Argentine tennis player .

Career

Marco Trungelliti mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour .

So far he has celebrated six single and one double victories on the ITF Future Tour . So far he has won three doubles tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour . On November 26th, 2012 he broke through the top 200 of the world rankings in singles for the first time and his highest placement was a 126th place in July 2016. He celebrated his first individual success on the Challenger Tour in April 2018 in Barletta . As a qualifier, he made it to the final without losing a set, in which he was able to defeat local hero Simone Bolelli in three sets.

After being in the third qualifying round of the French Open in 2018 where Poland Hubert Hurkacz had failed Trungelliti wanted to return to his home in Barcelona go. But when seven players had already moved up into the main field as lucky losers and the injured Nick Kyrgios signed off, one place was still free. Initially, the Indian Prajnesh Gunneswaran was on the list, but due to a report at the Challenger Tournament in Vicenza, he could not move up, which is why Trungelliti was nominated again. After a ten-hour drive with his brother Andre, his mother Susi and 88-year-old grandmother Lela, they reached Paris . He sent videos and photos from the long drive on Twitter . After his victory in the first round against the Australian Bernard Tomic, he lost to Marco Cecchinato in the following round .
