Gero Kretschmer (born May 6, 1985 in Cologne ) is a former German tennis player who was successful as a doubles specialist.
Career
Gero Kretschmer played mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ATP World Tour and was considered a double specialist. He won seven singles and 14 doubles on the Future Tour. He won nine doubles tournaments on the Challenger Tour. On November 30, 2009 he broke through the top 350 in the world rankings for the first time in singles and his highest ranking was a 316th place in June 2010. He was far more successful in doubles, where he reached rank 79 in the world rankings. At the If Stockholm Open 2013 he made his debut on the ATP World Tour. On February 8, 2015, Kretschmer won his first and only ATP double title in Quito with Alexander Satschko .
