Mateusz Kowalczyk [ maˈteuʂ kɔˈvalt͡ʂɨk ] (born May 3, 1987 in Chrzanów ) is a Polish tennis player .

Career

Kowalczyk mainly plays doubles, including with his compatriot Tomasz Bednarek . He has won 18 double titles on the Challenger Tour so far . In 2010 he moved into the final of the tournament in Belgrade with Bednarek , but lost to Santiago González and Travis Rettenmaier . In the same year he made his Grand Slam debut at the French Open with Bednarek . There they were eliminated in the first round as well as shortly afterwards in Wimbledon . In the 2013 season he reached the final in Stuttgart with Bednarek . In the following season he again reached the final in Stuttgart , this time with Artem Sitak , and won his first title on the World Tour after a win in three sets.

In 2017 he made his debut for the Polish Davis Cup team .
