Jeff Coetzee (born April 25, 1977 in Okiep ) is a former South African tennis player who celebrated his successes in doubles.
Career
Coetzee played as a professional on the ATP World Tour from 1996 . He quickly decided to mainly compete in doubles. He won six doubles titles and was another ten times in a double-final. In November 2008 he reached 12th place, his highest ranking in the ATP world rankings . His best result in a Grand Slam tournament was at the Australian Open in 2003 and 2008 , in which he reached the semifinals. His best season was also in 2008, in which he was able to reach five finals, one of which he won. This enabled him to qualify for the Tennis Masters Cup with his partner and compatriot Wesley Moodie . There they were eliminated in the group stage. After the tournament Coetzee achieved his best placement. In the next two years he continuously lost places, so that he soon only competed on the Challenger Tour . Here he also won his last of 18 titles in May 2010 in Tunis . After the Challenger tournament in Dortmund , he ended his career.
Between 2000 and 2009 he played for the South African Davis Cup team , in which he has a record of 13: 5. After his active career, he started working as a coach. Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah won the title at Wimbledon in 2019 under his supervision .
