The Slazenger Open 2008 was a tennis tournament thattook placein Nottingham from June16-22. It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on grass. In the same weekthe Ordina Open was playedin 's-Hertogenbosch , which, like the Slazenger Open, was part of the International Series .

Ivo Karlović was last year's winner who successfully defended his title this year. In the final, he won with four seeded 7: 5, 6: 7 4 , 7: 6 8  against the third seed list Fernando Verdasco . With that, Karlović won his first title of the year and his fourth overall. Jamie Murray and Eric Butorac were successful in doubles last year, and this year they competed with other partners. While Butorac was eliminated in the first round, Murray was only eliminated in the final with Jeff Coetzee as a partner against Bruno Soares and Kevin Ullyett . Soares / Ullyett won in two sets 6: 2, 7: 6 5 . The Russian Dmitri Tursunow was disqualified in singles by the tournament management after he had not agreed with a decision of a line judge in doubles with a score of 4: 6, 1: 3, left the pitch and was therefore disqualified.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 370,000 euros; the total financial liabilities were 370,000 euros.
