The Brasil Open 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 11th to 17th, 2008 in Costa do Sauípe . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week, the Open 13 was played in Marseille and the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships in Delray Beach . Like the Brasil Open, these were part of the International Series category .

Guillermo Cañas was the defending champion in the singles and did not appear this year. In the final, Nicolás Almagro, seeded two, won in three sets 7: 6, 4 , 3: 6 and 7: 5 against seeding list leader Carlos Moyá . The Czech pairing Lukáš Dlouhý and Pavel Vízner were successful in doubles last year . They didn't run again this year. In the final, Marcelo Melo and  André Sá prevailed against the Spaniards Albert Montañés  and  Santiago Ventura with 4: 6, 6: 2 and [10: 7].

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 460,000 and the total financial debt was $ 485,000.

The qualification took place from February 9th to 11th, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
