The Copa Telmex 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place in Buenos Aires from February 18 to 24, 2008 . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament was played in Rotterdam and the SAP Open in San José . The latter, like the Copa Telmex, belonged to the International Series category , while the tournament in Rotterdam was part of the International Series Gold , which was more highly endowed .

Juan Mónaco was the defending champion in the singles and was eliminated in the first round this year. In the final, the first seeding listener David Nalbandian won in three sets with 3: 6, 7: 6, 6 and 6: 4 against José Acasuso . Martín Alberto García and Sebastián Prieto were successful in doubles last year, but this year they withdrew their participation with other partners or were eliminated in the quarter-finals. In the final, Agustín Calleri and Luis Horna prevailed against Werner Eschauer and Peter Luczak with 6: 0, 6: 7, 5 and [10: 8].

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 441,000 and total financial liabilities were $ 466,000.

The qualification took place from February 16 to 18, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
