The Abierto Mexicano Telcel 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 25th to March 2nd, 2008 in Acapulco . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week were in Zagreb , the PBZ Zagreb Indoors and in Memphis the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships played. The latter counted just like the Abierto Mexicano Telcel to the International Series Gold , while the tournament in Zagreb counted to the lower endowed International Series .

Juan Ignacio Chela was the defending champion in the singles, who was eliminated in the round of 16 this year. In the final, the sixth seeding list Nicolás Almagro won in two sets with 6: 1 and 7: 6 1 against the top seeded David Nalbandian . Potito Starace and Martín Vassallo Argüello were successful in doubles last year, this year they competed with other partners and were eliminated in the semi-finals and in the first round. In the final, Oliver Marach and Michal Mertiňák prevailed against Agustín Calleri and Luis Horna with 6: 2, 6 3 : 7 and [10: 7].
