The Dutch Open Tennis 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from July 14th to 20th, 2008 in Amersfoort . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week the Indianapolis Tennis Championships were played in Indianapolis , the ATP Studena Croatia Open in Umag and the Austrian Open in Kitzbühel . The latter belonged to the International Series Gold category , while the tournaments in Indianapolis, Umag and Amersfoort belonged to the lower endowed category of the International Series .

Steve Darcis was the defending champion in the singles, who this year lost to five seeded Spaniards Albert Montañés 6: 1, 5: 7, 3: 6 in the final . Montañés won his first individual title on the ATP Tour. Juan Pablo Brzezicki and Juan Pablo Guzmán were successful in doubles last year, they did not compete again this year. In the final, František Čermák and  Rogier Wassen prevailed against Jesse Huta Galung  and Igor Sijsling 7: 5 and 7: 5.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 305,000 euros and the total financial liabilities were 326,000 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place from July 12th to 13th, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
