Jesse Huta Galung (born October 6, 1985 in Haarlem ) is a former Dutch tennis player .

life and career

Huta Galung celebrated ten tournament successes on the Challenger Tour . He won all but one individual title. On the ATP tour in 2013 he won a title in doubles. He qualified several times for the main fields of the Grand Slam tournaments , but only made it past the opening round at the French Open in 2013 . He made his Grand Slam debut in 2008 at the Australian Open , where he was eliminated in the first round. In the same year he was defeated in doubles with Igor Sijsling in Amersfoort in the final to František Čermák and Rogier Wassen 5: 7, 5: 7.

Huta Galung qualified for the ATP Challenger Tour Finals in São Paulo in 2013 with five individual Challenger Tour finals, four of which he won . There he failed in the group stage. In 2014 , Galung and his doubles partner Stéphane Robert won the tournament in Barcelona , a tournament in the ATP World Tour 500 category , as only the third pair to make it into a main field as a lucky loser . They defeated the pairing Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjić in the final 6: 3, 6: 3 and secured their first title on the World Tour.

Huta Galung played for the Dutch Davis Cup team from 2006 to 2015 . He won a total of 6 of his 16 games, four in singles and two in doubles. In December 2016, he retired due to ongoing injury problems.
