Career

Millot started qualifying in future tournaments in 2004 . He was able to collect his first world ranking points in July 2004 and was in the finals of a future tournament for the first time in August 2006, and the next final participation followed a month later. In 2007 he reached three more Future finals, but the first title was still a long time coming. Nevertheless, he was able to finish a year in the top 500 of the world rankings for the first time. In 2008 Millot could not win a title in two future finals. At Challenger level, he won a match for the first time this year.

In February 2009, Millot finally won his first future title in Canada. After two more lost finals in future tournaments, he reached the final of a Challenger tournament in Milan for the first time in June 2009 , in which he was defeated by Alessio di Mauro . Only a month later he was in a Challenger final again in Manta , but again he lost against Horacio Zeballos . These successes brought him into the top 250 of the world rankings and so he was able to qualify for a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at the US Open in August 2009 . He failed in the first qualifying round; on the other hand, he successfully qualified for his first ATP tournament two months later in Lyon . In the first main round he had no chance against the top 100 player Olivier Rochus . In November 2009, Millot again managed to qualify for an ATP tournament at the Paris Masters . He defeated two top 100 players in qualifying with Simone Bolelli and Frederico Gil . His first major round win remained against the world number 20. Tomáš Berdych, however, fails.

In 2010 Vincent Millot was unable to qualify for an ATP tournament despite numerous attempts. At the Challenger level, however, he played consistently; Although he did not reach a final, he reached the semi-finals twice and the quarter-finals several times, making it into the top 200 for the first time in August 2010. In January 2011, Millot celebrated his greatest successes to date. First he won his first Challenger title against Gilles Müller in Nouméa . Two weeks later he was able to qualify for a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at the Australian Open after three straight wins. In the first main round he met Jürgen Melzer , who was in 11th position , and was eliminated in three sets. He also reached the main fields of the other Grand Slam tournaments in the course of his career, only at the Australian Open 2014 did he make it into the second round. In 2015 he secured his second title win on the Challenger Tour in Granby , when he defeated Philip Bester in the final 6-4 and 6-4. He reached his career record in the individual world rankings on October 10, 2016 with 135th place.

Millot retired in 2019 to become a tennis coach in the Canadian city of Sherbrooke . There he met his future wife in 2006, with whom he has two children.
