The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell 2014 was a tennis tournament that took place in Barcelona from April 21 to 27, 2014 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2014 and was played outdoors on a clay court. In the same week the BRD Năstase Țiriac Trophy was played in Bucharest , which, however, in contrast to the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, which belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category, only belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Defending champion in the singles was Rafael Nadal , who has already won the tournament eight times. Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares won the doubles title last year.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.

qualification

The qualification for the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell 2014 took place on April 19th and 20th, 2014. Six qualifying places in the individual competition and one place in the doubles competition were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
