The China Open 2014 was a tennis tournament that took place in Beijing from September 29th to October 5th, 2014 . It was part of the 2014 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships were played in Tokyo , which, like the China Open, belong to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Defending champion in singles was Novak Đoković , in doubles the duo Max Mirny and Horia Tecău .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.

The qualification for the China Open 2014 took place on September 27th and 28th, 2014. Four qualifying places in the individual competition and one place in the doubles competition were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
