The Beijing ATP tournament (officially China Open ; formerly Beijing Salem Open ) is a Chinese men's tennis tournament . The hard court tournament was added to the ATP Tour calendar in 1993 together with the tournaments in Doha and Dubai , but in 1998 it was initially suspended again. The tournament was reintroduced in 2004 and is currently part of the ATP Tour 500 ; In 2018 the tournament was the highest endowed tournament in this tournament category. The tournament has been held at the National Tennis Center since 2009 , previously it was held at the Beijing Tennis Center . In 2011, a new Center Court was created that can hold up to 15,000 spectators, the so-called Diamond Court , which is supposed to be reminiscent of a gem due to its shape; the old Center Court is still in use and now bears the name Lotus Court , also due to its shape .

The record winner of the tournament is the Serb Novak Đoković with six successes, who has not yet lost an encounter at this tournament. The brothers Bob and Mike Bryan are most successful in doubles with three tournament wins .
