Alex O'Brien (born March 7, 1970 in Amarillo , Texas ) is a retired American tennis player .
Career
He won his only single title on the ATP Tour in 1996 in New Haven and in the following year he reached 30th place, his highest single place in the tennis world rankings . O'Brien was more successful in doubles, where he won 13 titles, including the 1999 US Open with Sébastien Lareau and the doubles World Cup in the same year. In addition, he reached 20 other finals of double competitions, including twice at the Australian Open , and once each at the US Open and double World Cup. In the double ranking of the world rankings he was number one in the world for a total of five weeks in 2000.
