Pete Sampras won his first title in Philadelphia

The ATP tournament in Philadelphia (officially US Pro Indoor ) was a men's tennis tournament that was held in Philadelphia from 1968 to 1998 . The game was played indoors, initially on carpet; in 1992, 1997 and 1998 hard courts were played. The venue was the Spectrum Arena until 1996 , the last two editions of the tournament took place in the Wells Fargo Center , u. a. Home of the Philadelphia 76ers . The tournament was part of the ATP Championship Series or its successor, the ATP International Series Gold .

Record winners of the tournament with four titles each and two other finals are Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe . Rod Laver and Pete Sampras , who won his first tournament on the ATP Tour here, also triumphed four times . McEnroe is also a record winner in doubles, with his doubles partner Peter Fleming he won the doubles competition three times.
