Alexander "Sandy" Mayer (born April 5, 1952 in Flushing , Queens , New York ) is a retired American tennis player .
In 1975 he won the doubles competition at the Wimbledon Championships together with Vitas Gerulaitis and in 1979 with his younger brother Gene Mayer also the French Open .
Sandy and Gene Mayer are the only pair of brothers who both made the US Top 10.
