The ATP indoor tournament in Toronto (most recently officially Skydome World Tennis ) is a former men's tennis tournament that was held in Toronto , Ontario in 1985/86 and 1990 . The game was played on carpet in the hall. As early as the 1980s, the tournament took place as part of the Grand Prix Tennis Circuit and was - alongside the Canada Masters , which is held alternately in Toronto and Montréal - the second professional tournament for men in Canada. After a four-year hiatus, an indoor tournament was held again in Toronto in 1990; it was the first competition in its category on the then newly created ATP Tour . The tournament was also part of the ATP Championship Series , the predecessor of the ATP International Series Gold and its successor, the ATP World Tour 500 . However, the tournament was discontinued immediately.
The venue for the competition was the Rogers Center , which was then still called SkyDome .
