Kevin Curren (born March 2, 1958 in Durban ) is a retired South African tennis player . In his career, he won four double titles in Grand Slam tournaments and was also twice in the final of a men's individual.

Curren lost in the final against Mats Wilander in four sets at the 1984 Australian Open . In Germany he is remembered for his defeat in the 1985 Wimbledon final . He lost to Boris Becker 3: 6, 7: 6, 6: 7 and 4: 6, although he played the best tournament of his career and the Americans John McEnroe , then number 1 in the world, and Jimmy Connors , finalist 1984, had defeated. There was also a victory over Stefan Edberg in the round of 16. He became a US citizen in April 1985 .

In his career he won a total of five singles and 26 doubles. His highest world ranking position in singles was 5. He was the captain of the South African Davis Cup team from 2002 to 2005 , but had never been active as a player for the team.
