Grant Connell (born November 17, 1965 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian tennis player .

Career

The doubles specialist was able to celebrate a total of 22 victories in doubles competitions on the ATP Tour in his active career and only failed 26 more times in the finals. The greatest successes were winning the Masters tournaments in Indian Wells in 1994, Paris 1995 and Rome 1996 and winning the Doubles Championships in 1995. In addition, Connell was able to reach the finals of the Australian Open in 1990 and Wimbledon in 1993, 1994 and 1996, but failed here each.

Connell was number one in the world rankings in doubles for a total of 14 weeks in 1993 and 1994 and ended 1993 in this position. He achieved his highest single placement with rank 67 in June 1991.

For the Canadian Davis Cup team , he played 21 games. He won 15 of his 21 doubles games, in singles he was eight times successful in eleven games.
