The Canadian Davis Cup team is Canada's national tennis team . The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, analogous to the Fed Cup for women.

history

Canada first took part in the Davis Cup in 1913 . The team played in the world group for the first time in 1991 , but lost 4-1 to the favored Spaniards in the first round . 1992 followed another appearance against Sweden , which was lost with 2: 3 in Vancouver . In 1997 the team failed to qualify for the world group against the Slovaks , and in 2002 they failed against Brazil 4-0. It wasn't until 2004 that they made it into the world group again, but lost to the Netherlands 1: 4. In 2019 , the Canadian team reached the final for the first time, in which the team lost 2-0 to Spain prematurely after the first two singles.
