The Davis Cup team of the British West Indies was the national tennis team of the British West Indies , which represented the state association in the Davis Cup .
history
The British West Indies first took part in the Davis Cup in 1953 . After 13 defeats in a row, the team celebrated their first win 3-2 against Venezuela in 1966 . It took another 21 years (until 1987 ) to win the next and at the same time last match , when they could also beat Cuba 3-2 in the first round . 1987 was also the last year in which the British West Indies took part in the Davis Cup. Since then, some member states have been competing with their own teams, e. B., the Bahamas , Barbados or Jamaica .
The most successful player was Richard Russell with 10 wins and 28 losses.
