The French Davis Cup team is the French national tennis team that has participated in the Davis Cup since 1904 . It is organized by the Fédération Française de Tennis (FFT). The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, analogous to the Fed Cup for women.

history

France has participated in the Davis Cup since 1904 . The team celebrated its greatest successes in the years 1925 to 1933 , when they could reach the finals every year. Six of the ten victories fell in this era, three times you left the field as a loser. This was followed by a long dry spell before coming back to the finals for the first time in 1982 . There, however, the team was defeated by the USA . It was not until 1991 that the seventh success was secured. The team led by Henri Leconte and Guy Forget met the USA again, but this time they were victorious 3-1. The team, consisting of Nicolas Escudé , Sébastien Grosjean , Cédric Pioline and Fabrice Santoro , won their ninth title in 2001 against Australia . In 2017 the team won their tenth title.
