International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1929

The International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1929 was the 24th edition of the competition for men's national tennis teams organized by the ITF . The competition was held in two continental zones, the European and American zones . The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals. The USA clearly beat Germany 5-0, but failed in the final, which took place from July 26th to 28th, just 3-2 to defending champions France . France won the third title in a row.

Attendees

Including the defending champion, 30 countries took part in the competition. The following teams played for a final ticket against the defending champion.

European zone

A total of 24 teams competed in the European zone. For Egypt and Monaco it was the first participation in the competition.

America Zone

The America Zone consisted of five participants.

Playoff

In the playoff between the two winners of the continental zones, the USA won over Germany, which had won the European zone for the first time. The USA reached the final for the tenth time in a row.
