The Davis Cup 1982 was the 71st edition of the competition for men's national tennis teams organized by the ITF . The US team won the final in Grenoble from December 26th to 28th against hosts France 4-1. The USA defended their title from the previous year. For France it was the first final since 1933 after 49 years .
