International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1927

The International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1927 was the 22nd edition of the competition organized by the ITF for men's national tennis teams . The competition was held in two continental zones, the European and American zones . The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals. Here, set France against Japan with 3: 0. In the final against defending champions USA from September 8th to 10th , France defeated the USA 3-2 after failing in each of the previous two years. France won the first title in the history of the International Lawn Tennis Challenge, and ended the US streak of seven consecutive final wins.

Attendees

Including the defending champion, 26 countries took part in the competition. The following teams played for a final ticket against the defending champion.

European zone

A total of 21 teams competed in the European zone. For Greece and Yugoslavia it was the first participation in the competition.

Playoff

In the playoff between the two continental zone winners, as in the previous year, France triumphed over Japan, making it into the final against defending champions USA for the third time in a row.
