International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1937

The International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1937 was the 32nd edition of the competition organized by the ITF for men's national tennis teams . The competition was held in two continental zones, the European and American zones . The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals.

In the continental playoff, the USA prevailed against the German Reich and defeated defending champion Great Britain 4-1 in the final from July 24th to 27th . It was the USA’s twelfth title to date.

In the playoff between the two winners of the continental zones, the USA won over the German Empire. Here overtook Don Budge at 2: 2 Play a 0: 2 sets down in the decider against Gottfried von Cramm on.

In the final between defending champions Great Britain and the USA, the challenger was able to prevail 4-1. It was the United States’s twelfth title to date. For Great Britain, after five finals and four titles in a row, it should take 41 years (until 1978 ) to reach the next finals.
