Davis Cup 1946
The Davis Cup in 1946 was the 35th edition of the competition organized by the ITF for men's national tennis teams . The competition was held for the first time under the name Davis Cup after a six-year break during the Second World War . The name was changed in honor of the initiator of the competition, Dwight Filley Davis, who died in 1945 .
The competition was held in two continental zones, the European and American zones . The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals.
In the continental playoff, the USA prevailed against Sweden , and in the subsequent final from December 26th to 30th, they clearly defeated defending champions Australia 5-0. It was the US's 14th title so far.

Including the defending champion, 21 countries took part in the competition. The following teams played for a final ticket against the defending champion.
European zone
The Turkey reported for the first time for the Davis Cup, but has not raced for their first round match.
