International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1925

The International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1925 was the 20th edition of the competition for men's national tennis teams organized by the ITF . As in previous years, the competition was held in two continental zones, the European and American zones . The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals. For the third time in a row, this playoff was contested by Australia and France , with France prevailing for the first time. In the final, which took place from September 11th to 13th, defending champions USA finally got the upper hand with 5-0, securing their tenth title so far and the sixth in a row.

Attendees

Including the defending champion, 26 countries took part in the competition. This was the fifth time in a row that a new attendance record was achieved. The following teams played for a final ticket against the defending champion.

European zone

A total of 16 teams competed in the European zone. For Poland , Portugal and Sweden it was the first participation in the International Lawn Tennis Challenge.

America Zone

The America Zone consisted of nine participants. Hawaii registered for the last time. A special feature is the participation of Spain in the American zone, which previously always competed in the European zone.

Playoff

In the playoff between the two winners of the continental zones, France triumphed over Australia, making it the first time in the final against defending champions USA. It should be the first of nine French finals in a row.
