Vincent Richards
Vincent "Vinnie" Richards (born March 20, 1903 in Yonkers , New York , † September 20, 1959 in New York ) was an American tennis player .
Career
He is the youngest US Open winner in history. Together with Bill Tilden , he won the men's doubles at the US Open in Forest Hills in 1918 at the age of 15 years and 139 days . In 1921 and 1922 he was able to win the title again with Bill Tilden. He was also successful in mixed with Marion Zinderstein in 1919 and with Helen Wills in 1924 . In 1924 he won the men's singles at the Olympic Games. In the same year he won the men's doubles at Wimbledon with Frank Hunter . From 1927 he was active on the professional tennis tour and won numerous other titles. In 1961 he was accepted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame .
Richards died of a heart attack in 1959.
