Marie Claude Maurice Germot (born November 17, 1882 in Vichy ; † August 6, 1958 there ) was a French tennis player .

Life

Together with Max Décugis , Germot won nine times - in 1904 and from 1906 to 1920, only interrupted by the First World War - the double competition of the French championships . In individual he won there in 1905, 1906 and 1910. With Décugis he also became champion at the German championships in 1902.

At the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , he won gold in doubles (with Max Décugis) and silver in singles in the tennis competition . In 1912 he won the gold medal in doubles at the Olympic Games together with André Gobert . His international successes also include the quarter-finals at the World Hard Court Championships and at Wimbledon in 1914 . In 1913 he was in the final of the World Covered Court Championship in Stockholm, where he was defeated by Tony Wilding . At Wimbledon he started a total of four times (1908, 1912-1914). For the French Davis Cup team , he played in three games and won one of seven matches.
