International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1935

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1935 was the 30th edition of the competition organized by the ITF for men's national tennis teams . The competition was in two continental zones of Europe - and the America Zone discharged, the Americas zone to North and Central America Group and South America group were divided. The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals.

As the number of participating countries fell sharply due to increasing political tensions in Europe, all applicants were eligible to take part in the main competition, and the outcome of last year's qualifying round was void.

In the continental playoff, the USA prevailed against Germany , but were clearly defeated by defending champions Great Britain 5-0 in the final from July 27th to 30th . It was Great Britain's eighth title to date and the third in a row.
