The United States Davis Cup team is the tennis national team of the United States of Lords. They are the most successful team in the Davis Cup and have won the title 32 times so far.

history

The US was the first to win the Davis Cup . A 3-0 win over the British team brought them to this success. In the second competition in 1902, they beat Great Britain again. It was not until the following year that they were beaten by the island's tennis team. In 1904 and 1907 they did not reach the final, in 1905 and 1906, and from 1908 to 1911 they reached the final, but they did not become champions. Two years later they became champions for the third time, and from 1920 to 1926 they were Davis Cup winners seven times in a row. Then they lost four finals in a row against France . In 1932 the US team lost again to France. By the beginning of the Second World War there were three finals, two of which were won. From 1947 they won four times against Australia , then lost four times in the final against them. Over time, Australia has often contested the US title. In 1963 and 1968 you could win against them. After winning the title five times by 1972 , the top tennis players have come closer together. Up until 1995 they were able to win the title a few more times, but it was not until 2007 that they succeeded again in asserting themselves against Russia in the Portland final .
