The Ecuadorian Davis Cup team is the national tennis team of Ecuador . The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, analogous to the Fed Cup for women.
history
Ecuador has been taking part in the Davis Cup since 1961 . The team achieved the best result when they reached the quarter-finals in 1985 . There they were defeated by Czechoslovakia 0: 5. The most successful player and record player at the same time is Nicolás Lapentti with 61 wins and 38 appearances within 17 years.
