The Tajik Davis Cup team is the men's national tennis team of Tajikistan , which represents the country in the Davis Cup .
history
Tajikistan took part in the Davis Cup for the first time in 1997 , and was able to win their first encounter against Jordan 2-1. Furthermore, the team succeeded in being promoted from Asia / Oceania Zone Group IV to Group III, in which the team remained until 2009 , only interrupted by a brief relegation to Group IV in 2006 and 2007 . In 2002 they even achieved the best result in history when they were promoted to Group II, but were relegated again the following year after clear defeats against Hong Kong and Iran . The country has not called for the competition since 2009.
The most successful player is Mansur Yakhyaev with 44 wins and 23 defeats , Sergey Makashin is the record player with a total of 85 played matches (41:44) .
