The Azerbaijani Davis Cup team is the national tennis team of Azerbaijan that represents the country in the Davis Cup .
history
Azerbaijan took part in the Davis Cup independently for the first time in 1996 after its players had played for the Soviet Union until 1992 . In the first year the team had to relegate from the Europe / Africa Zone Group III to Group IV. In 2002 it was able to rise again. In 2003 the team achieved their best result as fourth in the group. After Azerbaijan did not take part in the competition in 2004 , it played again in Group IV in 2005 and 2006. Since then, the country has not named for any edition of the Davis Cup.
The most successful player with 30 wins and 12 losses is Emin Ağayev . He is also a record player.
