Liechtenstein first took part in the Davis Cup in 1996 . The last participation so far dates from 2002 . At the debut in 1996 the team was integrated into Group III, from 1997 into Group IV. The greatest success there was a third place in 1997. Stephan Ritter has the most appearances in the Liechtenstein Davis Cup team . With 11 wins he is also the most successful player.
