Davis Cup 1950

The Davis Cup in 1950 was the 39th edition of the competition organized by the ITF for men's national tennis teams . The competition was held in two continental zones, the European and American zones . The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals.

In the continental playoff Australia beat Sweden 3-2 and defeated defending champions USA 4-1 in the final from August 25th to 27th . It was Australia's eighth title to date, and the beginning of an 18-year era with 15 Australian triumphs.

In the final between defending champions USA and Australia, Australia was able to prevail with a clear 4-1. It was the USA's seventh game against Australia in a row. Australia won their eighth title so far.
