International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1928

The International Lawn Tennis Challenge 1928 was the 23rd edition of the competition for men's national tennis teams organized by the ITF . The competition was held in two continental zones, the European and American zones . The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the finals. The USA prevailed against Italy 4: 1. In the final against defending champions France from July 27th to 29th, France defeated the USA 4-1. France won the second title in the history of the International Lawn Tennis Challenge.

Attendees

Including the defending champion, 34 countries took part in the competition, which set a new record. The following teams played for a final ticket against the defending champion.

European zone

A total of 27 teams competed in the European zone. For Chile , Finland and Norway it was the first participation in the competition.

 

America Zone

The America Zone consisted of six participants.
