The US Men's Clay Court Championships 2009 was a tennis tournament that took place from April 4 to 12, 2009 in Houston . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2009 and was played outdoors on a clay court. In the same week the Grand Prix Hassan II was played in Casablanca , which, like the US Men's Clay Court Championships, was part of the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Marcel Granollers was the defending champion in the singles, he was eliminated this year in the round of 16 against Tommy Haas . In this year's final, Australian Lleyton Hewitt won against Wayne Odesnik in straight sets 6: 2 and 7: 5. For Hewitt it was the first title in over two years. In the course of his career it was his 27th title on the ATP Tour so far. In doubles, Ernests Gulbis and Rainer Schüttler were the defending champions, but they did not take part in the tournament this year. In the final, the brothers Bob and Mike Bryan clearly prevailed in two sets with 6: 1 and 6: 2 against Jesse Levine and Ryan Sweeting . After 2007 it was the second title for the brothers in Houston and their 53rd joint title on the ATP Tour. In the current year they have already won the tournament in Sydney , the Australian Open and Delray Beach .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 442,500; total financial liabilities were $ 500,000.
