Defending champion in the singles was Dmitri Tursunow , who did not take part in the tournament this year. This year's final was won by the top seeded Frenchman Gaël Monfils , he prevailed against the number two seeded German Philipp Kohlschreiber with 7: 6 1 , 3: 6, 6: 2. Monfils won his second ATP title with it. In doubles, Arnaud Clément and Michaël Llodra were the defending champions, who have both won the tournament three times. They reached the final again this year, but had to admit defeat to the British duo Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski in three sets 6: 2, 6: 4, [10: 5].
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each received a bye in the first round. The total prize money was 398,250 euros; the total financial liabilities were 450,000 euros.
The qualification took place from September 19-21, 2009. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There were also two lucky losers.
