The Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships 2009 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 23 to 28, 2009 in Dubai . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2009 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships were played in Delray Beach and the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco . The latter, like the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category , while the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The winner of the previous edition of the tournament was Andy Roddick , who did not participate in the tournament that year. In this year's individual final, Novak Đoković defeated the Russian Michail Juschny in three sets with 7: 5, 5: 7 and 6: 3. This was Đoković's twelfth career title on the ATP Tour. In doubles, Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles were the defending champions, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals this year. In the final, Rik De Voest and Dmitri Tursunow won against Martin Damm and Robert Lindstedt 4: 6, 6: 3, [10: 5].

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 1,619,500 and total financial liabilities were $ 2,233,000.

The qualification took place February 21-22, 2009. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
