Dubai Tennis Open 2000

The Dubai Tennis Open 2000 was the 8th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Dubai . The tournament was the last time a tournament of the International Series of the male ATP series , starting from the 2001 season of status on one was International Series Gold tournament increased. It took place together with the Sybase Open Open in San José and the Open 13 in Marseille from February 7th to 13th, 2000. It was the only outside tournament that game week. The defending champion in the individual tournament was the Frenchman Jérôme Golmard , who this year placed eighth in the quarter-finals failed against the eventual winner Nicolas Kiefer . Kiefer was already in the final last year, but was defeated by Golmard there. It was his first title of the season and his fifth career title.

In doubles, the third-placed Czech pairing consisting of Jiří Novák and David Rikl won , who succeeded Wayne Black and Sandon Stolle . The defending champions did not compete this year. For both Czechs it was the first double title of the season. For Novák it was the tenth double title of his career, for Rikl already the 16. They achieved most successes in this pairing.
