The Nottingham Open 2000 was the 6th edition of the grass tennis tournament in Nottingham . The tournament was part of the male ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place together with the Heineken Trophy in Rosmalen from June 19 to 25, 2000. Both tournaments are considered preparatory tournaments for the Wimbledon Championships that take place afterwards . The prize money was $ 350,000 for both the singles and doubles. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

Defending champion of the individual competition was the Frenchman Cédric Pioline , who failed to set one in the first round this year. Instead, his fellow countryman Sébastien Grosjean , who was seeded four, won his second title of the season and his career at the same time.

The unseed pairing Donald Johnson and Piet Norval won in doubles, succeeding the American doubles of Patrick Galbraith and Justin Gimelstob , who did not participate in this constellation this year. For Johnson and Norval it was the second joint title of the season and their career. Before that, they both won ten double titles with other partners.
