Wideyes Swedish Open 2000

The Wideyes Swedish Open 2000 was the 52nd edition of the tennis clay court tournament in Båstad . The tournament was part of the male ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place together with the Miller Lite Hall of Fame Championships in Newport and the UBS Open Gstaad from July 10th to 16th, 2000. The prize pool for both the singles and doubles tournaments was $ 350,000. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

Defending champion in the singles was Juan Antonio Marín from Costa Rica, who was eliminated in the first round this year. Instead, the top seeded Swede Magnus Norman won the third title of the season and his tenth tournament of his career. It was already his second success at this tournament after 1997. He defeated Andreas Vinciguerra in two sets in the all-Swedish final .

His compatriots Nicklas Kulti and Mikael Tillström , who were also top-seeded, won in doubles , succeeding David Adams and Jeff Tarango , who were defeated in the final last year. The defending champions were eliminated in second place in the first round. It was also the third title of the year for the Swedish pairing. It was the eleventh tournament win in Kulti's career and the seventh for Tillström. Like Norman, you were successful at this tournament in 1997.
