The CA Tennis Trophy 2000 was the 26th edition of the tennis hard court indoor tournament in Vienna . The tournament was part of the male ATP series as the International Series Gold tournament . It took place in the Wiener Stadthalle from October 9 to October 15, 2000 at the same time as the Japan Open in Tokyo . The prize money for the singles and doubles tournaments was $ 700,000, $ 100,000 more than last year. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

Defending champion of the individual competition was the Briton Greg Rusedski , who was eliminated in the second round this year. It was won by his sixth seed compatriot Tim Henman , who defeated Tommy Haas in three sets in the final. The year before there was a German-British final in which Nicolas Kiefer was left behind . For Henman it was the first and only success in an International Series Gold tournament and his sixth in his career.

In doubles, the unseen pairing Yevgeny Kafelnikow and Nenad Zimonjić won , taking over from David Prinosil and Sandon Stolle . While Prinosil did not compete at all this year, Stolle and his partner David Adams lost to one set in the first round. For Kafelnikow and Zijmonić it was the only joint double title. It was Zijmonić's first success at a tournament in this category and his third double win overall, for Kafelnikow it was already the 21.
