Career
Rikl was a doubles specialist and won 30 titles on the ATP Tour in his career . He was twice in the final of a Grand Slam , but lost both. At Wimbledon he failed in 2001 at the side of his compatriot Jiří Novák to the Americans Donald Johnson and Jared Palmer in four sets. Three years later at the US Open he moved into the final unset with Leander Paes , where they clearly lost to Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor . Rikl celebrated his success with various partners, including Novák, Paes and the Russian Jewgeni Kafelnikow . With a total of 13 joint titles and a further 16 finals, he was by far the most successful together with Novák. Rikl achieved his highest position in the ATP double world rankings on August 20, 2001 with rank 4. Even if he never won a title in singles, he was listed on May 2, 1994 with rank 41 in the top 50 of the world rankings in singles.
In 2005 Rikl ended his active career.
